Ph.D. MSE graduate Ms. Alexandra B. Santos - Putungan is the 2018-2019 Most Outstanding Ph.D. Graduate of the College of Science, University of the Philippines Diliman. Her dissertation research is entitled, Adsorption of Carbon dioxide molecule on Boron clusters: A density Functional Theory Study. In her work, ab initio density functional theory (DFT) was used to investigate the adsorption of CO2 molecule on neutral Boron (B) clusters, which are characterized by planar and quasiplanar ground-state atomic structures. This work is under the supervision of Dr. Francis Norman Paraan of the National Institute of Physics.
